Mathematica Installation and Licensing

For University Owned Devices:

  • Mathematica can be installed on demand by using Software Center (Windows) or Self Service (MacOS)

  • University Owned devices use the Mathematica License Server and require an on campus network connection or VPN connection.

  • Mathematica Online can be accessed from any device by visiting https://www.wolfram.com/siteinfo/ and signing in with your university credentials

Eligibility

  • Faculty, staff, and students are eligible to use products on campus or personal machines

  • Agreement supports use of products in instruction and academic research

  • Licensing is renewed annually and is available only to active students, faculty, and staff

Request licensing (faculty, staff, student machines)

  • Enter your @UNCA.edu email at the following URL: 

https://www.wolfram.com/siteinfo/

  • Click "Download" for local Mathematica installation

  • Each installation or subscription will prompt for your UNCA login

  • Fill out form multiple times for installations on multiple machines (one key per machine)

  • Licensing information will be emailed, or can be found at

Mathematica for Emeritus Faculty

  • Emeritus faculty can be assigned a license to install Mathematica by contacting the ITS helpdesk, servicedesk@unca.edu.

  • ITS will work with Mathematica support to have a license delivered to an email address designated by the Emeritus Faculty member.

  • This process must be repeated yearly.
