Approved Cloud Storage Providers
UNC Asheville uses Google Workspace for Education and Google Drive as its primary approved cloud storage provider. This service is free to all Students, Faculty and Staff.
Additionally, UNC Asheville provides Microsoft Office 365 subscriptions to all Students, Faculty and Staff. Office 365 includes cloud storage via their OneDrive service.
Other Cloud Storage Providers
Due to the lack of formal agreements regarding data privacy, security and risks associated with granting an unauthorized third-party access to university data, UNC Asheville does not officially sponsor or support the use of any third-party cloud storage providers beyond Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive.
These include, but are not limited to, Dropbox, Apple iCloud, Adobe Cloud, Box, Mega, SpiderOak, NextCloud, and others.
