SAS 9.2 License Renewal

This will guide you through the SAS 9.2 license renewal process on your university-owned Windows machine.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Download the text renewal document from this link. This is the file you will be asked to redirect to during the renewal process. You will want to save this in the SAS file directory, usually found here:

    P:\<user>\My Documents\My SAS Files\9.2

  2. As the SAS Renewal Utility will likely not appear in the SAS folder on your Start menu, you will need to browse to it directly. If you are running 64-bit SAS, the default folder is:

    C:\Program Files\SASHome\SASRenewalUtility\9.2

If you are running 32-bit SAS on Windows x64, the default folder is:

    C:\Program Files\SASHome\x86\SASRenewalUtility\9.2

  3. Right-click on sasrenew.exe and select Run As Administrator to start the Renew SAS Software utility.

  4. Browse to the location of your saved SID file from step 1, click Next, then OK to accept the installation data. Make no changes to the SAS folder locations and click Renew. You should receive confirmation that the setint was successfully applied. Click OK to close the utility. When you re-open SAS, you should no longer see the license expiration warning.
