Wiring and Cabling Services

What is it?

ITS works with both departments and individuals on network connection additions or wiring and cabling modifications. There is a specific University defined process to which all UNCA faculty and staff must adhere. This process requires, first, review and approval by the Office of State Construction. When approved by state ITS and in collaboration with University Facilities Management staff, a University approved independent wiring contractor will make the requested changes.  ITS networking staff also consults on all renovation and new construction projects where fiber optic or copper wiring is involved and where any data or voice networking is required.

When is it available?

Normal business hours M-F.

Who can use it?

Faculty and Staff in consultation with ITS.

How much does it cost?

Costs depend on complexity and materials/labor for departmental requests and for renovation/construction projects is part of the construction project budget.
