Network Security Monitoring

What is it?

ITS Networking and Systems staff monitor campus intranet and external Internet using various tools and services to prevent and/or mitigate any suspicious activity, hacking and denial of service attacks or an other activity that might disrupt the integrity of the campus network or compromise any UNC Asheville resources or data. We also have affiliations with vendor partners and other ITS colleagues should additional support be required.

When is it available?

Network is monitored 24x7, 365 days a year via software tools and during normal M-F business hours by ITS staff.

Who can use it?

Monitoring is managed by ITS staff. Any suspicious activity should be reported by faculty, staff, and students via the HelpDesk as quickly as possible.

How much does it cost?

There is no cost associated with this service unless outside resources are required.
