Accessing a Delegated Email Account

Log out and in

If you were recently given delegate access to an account, but don't see it in your accounts list, please log out and back in to your email. This should allow the delegated account to populate. 

If you've been provided with delegated access to a special purpose, shared-use, club, or other email account, here's how to access it. 

Note: Inbox delegation provides access to an account's inbox. Other Google services like Drive, Calendar, Contacts, etc. must be managed separately via Google Shared Drives, data migration or other means. For help using those features and tools feel free to contact the ITS Service desk.


  1. Open Gmail in your web browser.
  2.  In the top right, click your profile photo or email address. This is known as the "Account Switcher."

  3. Click the delegated account you want to use.

  4. A new window will open for this account.
